Hello

Hey there! I’m Paula Mastrangelo, a graphic designer with a deep love for typography, editorial design, and brand identity. My journey began in Barcelona, where I studied at EINA and started my career at La Vanguardia, one of Spain’s leading newspapers. That experience sparked my passion for creating designs that balance clarity, structure, and beauty.

Over the years, I’ve led editorial design teams, collaborated with global agencies, and earned two Gold Quill Awards for excellence in communication. My fascination with letterforms inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Advanced Typography and later the Expert Class in Type Design at the Plantin Instituut voor Typografie in Antwerp, where I graduated with top honors.

Since 2013, I’ve been working independently with clients and studios worldwide—crafting visual strategies that elevate brands and tell stories with intention. Whether through a visual identity, a publication, or a type project, I aim to create work that feels thoughtful, timeless, and true to its essence. I've collaborated with numerous organizations, including Contrapunto BBDO, Retype, SurvivorNet, and Riverside Naturals.

In 2025 I became a partner at Brutal Types and designed various typefaces for the foundry.
